I have my list of goals, I have motivation, and I have a great family that supports my random creative outbursts. Life is good! They why do I have all these unfinished projects laying around? I am famous for starting something cool, and then not finishing the project. I literally have boxes of scraps of wood stored under my house, parts for awesome projects I started, but never finished. Some of this junk is even ten years ago. I haven’t been painting much the last two months, just been ill often and not feeling creative. Random, spontaneous creativity is what fuels my fire. So Last night round 8:30 I get an urge to paint, and I rifle thru my art supplies and find this painting 1/2 done from over a year ago. I shelved because I didn’t like how it was turning out, and the composition was a little unbalanced. I picked it up, stared at it for 30 seconds, and I just new I could finish it tonight! An hour and 45 minutes later I was done! What else can I find around here that needs finishing?

admin, January 9th 2011 |2011 Goals
I can’t think of a better place to write down my goals for 2011 then here on my Blog. With your help they will all be reached.
1. Welcome the new baby into a loving home.
2. Locate a 2 or 3 bedroom home for my family to expand into.
3. Streamline our household belongings, clean out our storage areas, and complete all the small home improvements I have to do.
4. Grow Baker Design Studio by 30% or more. Attract new clients with marketing efforts. Set internal deadlines and complete them. Make more efficient by hiring a book keeper, and interns if useful. Finish revisions on website.
5. Launch the Sturgill Spearfishing online store, expand product line, grow into profitable business.
6. Art: Revise www.dustanbaker.com to support online sales.Blog more. Engage with my art heroes. Locate 3-4 shows or festivals to show new art at. Market my art for potential licensing deals.
7. Stop being so angry about issues I cannot control. I spend so much energy Obama bashing and fighting the power, it’s time to focus all that energy into positive tasks in my own life.
8. Loose 25 pounds. I have gotten big enough, that Surfing and Mountain biking are a big chore. It’s a bummer. But what’s my plan??????
9. Shoot a “Big White Sea Bass” and have a big BBQ
Platinum ink OC
Last night, Dec 4th, was the Santa Ana Artwalk. This event centers around the art studios on the blocks of Broadway and 1st street in Santa Ana. The area is an eclectic mix Galleries, Studios, Clothing retailers, Bars and Restaurants. Classic area architecture, like the  Santora building is home to dozens of art studios. You will find glass sculptors, ceramicists, and fine artists all at work here.
Located at 208 Broadway, is a new edition to the neighborhood, Platinum Ink OC. They can be found on FACEBOOK here: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001893661820
To celebrate their grand opening, Shadow(owner of Platinum Ink OC)  and his staff put together an amazing display of original art and engineering. Alan Lee showed up with two world class motorcycle builds, and also his original paintings. Ken Hall delivered the PAV Badger. The PAV is a one man tank engineered for S.W.A.T and Military usage. Patrons enjoyed the opportunity to sit in and take pictures. Mikal Elder had several stunning paintings on display. Jocelyne Liboulle had several paintings of great quality also. Pat Green displayed a well designed bench of polished aluminum and wood . At least a dozen other artists were showing in this location also. Styles ranged from Graffiti to life drawing to photo-realistic airbrushing. I was fortunate to have the rear wall dedicated to over a dozen of my paintings. I displayed some of my custom painted skateboard decks, and also utilized the ceiling air ducts to suspend a collection art buoys and floats. It was a real treat to be a part of this event, people were friendly, and the atmosphere was festive.  Much of the art will be on display for a couple of weeks here. Check with Platinum Ink for details.
